On April 18, 2014, Robbie Sykes came before the court and entered a guilty plea to the offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver-marijuana, as alleged in the trial information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)(d), a class d felony without the firearm enhancement. On June 3, 2014, he came before the court for sentencing. Both parties were recommending a 5 year prison sentence. The Court agreed with the recommendation and sentenced him to prison for 5 years. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On June 3, 2014, Keely Murphy pled guilty in Polk County Criminal Number FECR270249 to the crimes of Introducing a Controlled Substance into a Detention Facility, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone). Sentencing was set for a later date. The defendant is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On June 3, 2014, Brittnie Vaughn was sentenced to prison in Polk County Criminal Number FECR262629 for a period not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine). The Court revoked the probation previously granted to the defendant. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On June 4, 2014, Deandre Wooden, entered a guilty plea to the offense of possession of a controlled substance-cocaine base crack, third offense, as alleged in Count I of the trial information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(5), a class d felony and possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, third offense, as alleged in Count II of the trial information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(5), a class d felony. He waived time and notice and requested immediate sentencing. He was sentence to prison for 5 years on each count. The court ran the two counts concurrent with each other for a total period of incarceration not to exceed 5 years. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On June 4, 2014, Lisa Young was found to have violated her probation in case number FE252107. She was on probation for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, a Class C felony. Her probation was continued and she is required to remain in custody until placement at a halfway house is available. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On June 4, 2014, Shannon Bly was sentenced for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, a Class C felony, in case number FE268833. She was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed ten (10) years with a mandatory one-third term she must serve prior to becoming eligible for parole. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On June 5, 2014, Jessica Ingersoll was sentenced to prison in Polk County Criminal Number FECR273343 for a period not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On April 21, 2014, Lorinda Bregar came before the court and entered a guilty plea to Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance-methamphetamine, as a lesser included offense of Count I of the Trial Information in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)( c )(6), a Class C Felony. At sentencing the parties were free to argue. On June 5, 2014, she came before the court for sentencing. The State argued for a 10 year prison sentence. The defendant argued for a suspended sentence and probation. The P.S.I. report recommended probation with the condition she reside at the Women’s Residential Facility. The court sentenced her to probation with the added condition that she reside at the Women’s Residential Facility until maximum benefits have been achieved. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
