DeMorris Binion was sentenced to probation in FE266470 for forgery. he will be required
to make restitution and will be on probation for two (2) years Taylor Bryan was
sentenced to 45 days in jail and 5 years probation in FE267645 for the charges of
OWI and felony Eluding. Dennis Vilez pled guilty to OWI 2nd offense in OM076191.
He will be sentenced in December
On October 24, 2013, Zachariah Schulte was sentenced to an indeterminate term of
incarceration not to exceed 10 years in Polk County Criminal Number FECR267036 for
the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Methamphetamine).
Over the objection of the State and the Department of Corrections, the Court granted
Zachariah Schulte a suspended sentence and placed him on probation for a period
of two years. The Court granted the defendant probation notwithstanding the fact
that the defendant was already on probation for two other offenses and had escaped
from the Fort Des Moines Correctional Facility. The defendant was prosecuted by
the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
On October 24, 2013, Jesse Jeffries plead guilty was sentenced for the crimes of
Eluding or Attempting to Elude a Pursuing Law Enforcement Vehicle, a Class D felony,
and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D felony, in case number FE266418.
He was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of incarceration of five (5) years
on each count, concurrent to each other. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk
County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
On August 15, 2013, Jaron Jackson came before the court and entered a plea to the
offense of manufacturing a controlled substance-marijuana, as alleged in count III
of the trial information, in violation of Iowa Code Sections 124.401(1)(d), a class
d felony, as a second or subsequent offender, in violation of Iowa Code Section
124.411. On October 24, 2013 he came before the court for sentencing. The State
recommended 10 years in prison. The defendant argued for a suspended sentence. The
court sentenced him to 5 years in prison. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County
Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
