Heather Mace pled guilty to Theft 2nd Degree in FE260597. She admitted she misled her coworkers into believing her son had been in a serious accident. When they donated money based on her deception, she kept the money for herself. She will be sentenced March 19. 2013.
Jobie Wallace was sentenced in FE258645 on the charge of Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree a Class D Felony and in FE255688 on the charge of Forgery, a misdemeanor. He was also on probation in AG247501. He argued for probation, citing his successful completion of residential substance abuse treatment since he pled guilty back in November. The Court ordered him to prison for five years and two years, respectively. The Court ordered those sentences be run consecutive due to the separate and serious nature of the offenses. The Court also imposed a 180 day contempt sentence and revoked the Defendant’s probation in AG247501.
Matt Higgins pled guilty to Fraudulent Practice 2nd Degree in FE259293. He admitted he under-reported his income to Iowa Work Force Development in order to receive unemployment benefits to which he would otherwise not have been entitled. He will be sentenced March 19, 2013.
Kenneth Robinson was found in contempt in AG242193 and SR245432. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail. He was given the opportunity to purge the contempt by complying with all conditions of his probation. The Court will review the defendant’s compliance in April, 2013.
David Louis May pled guilty to Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in FE261500. He agreed to be sentenced to prison for two (2) years.
Lisa Cowles was found in violation of her probation ion FE234783. She was sentenced to reside at the Women’s Residential Facility and continue on probation.
Vallavez Robinson was granted a five (5) year suspended sentence in FE238909 on the charge of Fraudulent Practice 2nd Degree. He was ordered to make restitution to Iowa Workforce Development in the amount of $4737.00. He will be on probation for two (2) years.
William Butcher was found in contempt for violating the terms and conditions of his probation. He was sentenced to 49 days in jail. His probation was unsuccessfully discharged in FE231449 and SR228045. he will now be transferred to Warren County to deal with a violation of his probation there.
Thomas Kyle was sentenced in FE259981 on the charge of Theft 2nd Degree. He had pled guilty on December 17, 2012, admitting he had stolen books from a library. The Court granted him a Suspended five (5) year sentence based on the recommendation of the Department of Corrections and agreement of the parties. He will be on probation for two (2) years.
Beverly Shipp pled guilty to Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree in FE256692, admitting she attempted to break into her old residence, an apartment from which she had been evicted and which was under renovation with the intent to steal something. She was granted a suspended sentence and will be on probation for two (2) years.
On February 7, 2013, Troy Mure, Jr. pled guilty in Polk County Criminal Number FECR261545 to the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana). Sentencing was set for a later date. The defendant is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
