May 7th, 2012 defendant Drew Marquardt – pled guilty to the charge of Theft in the 2nd Class D felony, sentencing set for June 18, 2012 @ 11:00 a.m. courtroom 204

May 7th, 2012, defendant Ricky Noble pled guilty to the crime of Theft in the 5th degree, simple misdemeanor. She was ordered to pay a $65 fine plus court costs.

May 7th, 2012, defendant Anton Panamerenko appeared for his arraignment. Pretrial Conference was scheduled for June 7, 2012 @ 2:15 p.m. in courtroom 207. Trial was scheduled for July 11, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 204.

May 7th, 2012, defendant Gregory Mendenhall appeared for arraignment. Pretrial Conference was scheduled for June 7, 2012 @ 2:00 p.m. in courtroom 204. Trial was scheduled for July 11, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 204.

May 7th, 2012, defendant Michelle Johnson appeared for arraignment. Pretrial Conference was scheduled for June 7, 2012 @ 1:45 p.m. in courtroom 204. Jury trial was scheduled for July 11, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 204.

May 7th, 2012, defendant Jessica Quick appeared for arraignment. Pretrial Conference was scheduled for June 7, 2012 @ 1:45 p.m. in courtroom 207. Jury trial was scheduled for July 11, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.in courtroom 204.

On May 8th, 2012, David Pappas was sentenced for the crime of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class C felony, as a second or subsequent offender, in case number FE250591. He was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of thirty (30) years in prison and must serve a mandatory one-third term of this sentence prior to becoming eligible for parole. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On May 8th, 2012, Rex Smith admitted that he had violated the conditions of his probation in case number FE135380. He was on probation for Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a Class D felony. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of five (5) years. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On May 8th, 2012, Christopher Drew appeared for sentencing on two counts of Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury. The children and their mother presented victim impact statements to the Court. The Presentence Investigation Report recommended that the defendant be sentenced to prison for the maximum period of incarceration. The defendant has been convicted of some form of assault eleven times. There are three protective orders in place between the defendant and three separate women. At sentencing, the defendant exercised his right of allocution. He spent a large amount of time attempting to claim that the charges were the result of rough horseplay and that he should not be sentenced to prison. The defendant took no responsibility for his actions. After hearing all of these things, the Court sentenced the defendant to prison for a term not to exceed ten years. The Court also entered a No Contact Order prohibiting the defendant from contacting the children or their mother.

05/09/2012

On May 9th, 2012 Renee Short appeared for sentencing for Theft in the 2nd Degree. The Court granted the defendant’s request for a suspended sentence and probation.

On May 9th, 2012 Ronald Beard appeared for a probation violation hearing. The defense attorney requested additional time to further investigate new charges. The probation violation hearing was continued to June 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Courtroom 204.

On May 9th, 2012 Swan Lovan pled guilty to Forgery, Malicious Prosecution, and Theft 3rd. Sentencing is set for 6-25-12 in Courtroom 204.

05/10/2012

On May 10th, 2012, Donnie Deaton FE254225, pled guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-methamphetamine, as alleged in the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)( c )(6), a Class C Felony as a Second or Subsequent Offender, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.411. He waived time and notice and requested immediate sentencing. Both parties recommended a twenty year prison sentence and the court agreed with the recommendation. The defendant was sentenced to prison for twenty years. The remaining traffic citations were dismissed. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On May 10, 2012, Rebecca Baker plead guilty to the crimes of Conspiracy to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, a Class C felony, and Possession of Ephedrine or Pseudoephedrine With Intent It Be Used to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, a Class D felony, in case number FE250779. She will be sentenced on June 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. and faces a maximum indeterminate term of ten (10) years and five (5) years in prison. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On May 10, 2012, James Bennett plead guilty to the crimes of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, a Class C felony, and Possession of Ephedrine or Pseudoephedrine With Intent It Be Used to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, a Class D felony, in case number FE250425. He was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of ten (10) years and five (5) years in prison, consecutive. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On May 10, 2012, Robert Stephenson was convicted upon a jury trial of the crimes of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a Class B felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, a Class B felony, and Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp, a Class D felony, in case number FE253703. He will be sentenced on June 26, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 208. He faces a maximum indeterminate term of twenty-five (25) years and five (5) years in prison. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On May 11, 2012, Sergio Gonzales appeared for a bond review hearing. The Court denied the defendant’s motion based upon the nature and circumstances of the offenses charged, the defendant’ record of conviction and court appearance and the defendant’s flight to avoid prosecution or failure to appear in Court.

On May 11, 2012, Angela Doser appeared for a felony probation violating hearing. The defendant stipulated to violating her probation and was sentenced to serve 30 days contempt. She was given credit for 15 days previously served. The defendant’s probation was extended through 8-31-2015. She was ordered to remain in jail until bed space available at the Women’s Residential Facility and obtain a substance abuse evaluation.

On May 11, 2012, Wendi Jayne appeared for a felon probation violating hearing. She stipulated to violating her probation and was sentenced to prison for a term not to exceed 5 years.

On May 11, 2012, Demitruis Carrington-Patterson appeared for a felony probation violation hearing. The violation is based upon a new theft 5th case SMAC329438. The defendant requested a pv evidentiary hearing which was set for 6-11-12 at 10:30 a.m. Courtroom 204.

On May 11, 2012, Darius Doyle appeared for a felony probation violation hearing. The violation is based upon a new drug felony charge. The defendant requested a pv evidentiary hearing which was set for June 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Courtroom 207.

On May 11, 2012, Jerry Lewellin stipulated to violating his probation. He was ordered to serve 14 days in jail as contempt. The defendant was continued on probation.

On May 11, 2012 Miranda Fox stipulated to violating her probation. She was ordered to serve 21 days in jail as contempt. She was further ordered to comply with all treatment recommendations from EFR and obtain/ maintain employment.

On May 11, 2012, Gregory Harris appeared for a felony probation violating hearing. An evidentiary hearing was set for June 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom 204.

On May 11, 2012, Cornelius Cooper appeared for a felony probation violation hearing. The defendant stipulated to violating his probation. Disposition is set for June 5, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. Courtroom 204.

On May 11, 2012, Christopher Desean Johnson Sr. stipulated to violating his probation. He was ordered to immediately set up a payment plan.

On May 11, 2012 Robert Louis Smith Jr. stipulated to violating his probation. Disposition hearing was set for June 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Courtroom 204.

On May 11, 2012 Darsie Lindquist stipulated to violating her probation. She was ordered to immediately set up a payment plan.

On May 11, 2012, Kim Story stipulated to violating her probation. She was ordered to immediately set up a payment plan.

On May 11, 2012 Terry Kilby pled guilty to Theft in the 3rd Degree. He was granted a suspended sentence and placed on probation.

On May 11, 2012 Anna Eisenlauer appeared for Arraignment. Pretrial conference was set for May 31, 2012 at 2:45 p.m. Courtroom 207 Trial was set for July 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
