Cody Phrommany appeared for arraignment on a felony drug charge in Polk County criminal case FECR270262. He pled not guilty and the Court scheduled a pretrial conference and trial date.

Alexander Wright appeared for arraignment on a charge of Reckless Use of a Firearm Causing Serious Injury in Polk County criminal case FECR270292. He pled not guilty and the Court scheduled a pretrial conference and trial date.

Debbie Hill appeared for arraignment on felony drug charges in Polk County criminal case FECR258577. She pled not guilty and the Court scheduled a pretrial conference and trial date.

Diane Manley appeared for arraignment on charges of Theft in the First Degree and Dependent Adult Abuse (Financial Exploitation over $100) in Polk County criminal case FECR269260. She pled not guilty and the Court scheduled a pretrial conference and trial date.

Joyce Beaman appeared for hearing upon her request for a bond review in Polk County criminal case FECR268120. The Court, finding that the defendant previously failed to appear for court and had no appropriate place to live, denied her request and continued her bond at $5000 cash only.

Connie Decker appeared for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to Public Intoxication (enhanced) in Polk County criminal case AGCR264800. The Court sentenced her to ninety days in jail.

Uriah Sawyer pled guilty to the charge of Pimping in Polk County criminal case FECR268980. The Court accepted his plea and set a sentencing hearing.

On November 6, 2013, a Polk County jury found defendants Deanna Hood and Spencer Pierce guilty as charged of Murder in the First Degree and Robbery in the First Degree in Polk County criminal numbers FECR 268031 and FECR268032. The convictions arise from the robbery and murder of Steven Harmon on June 6, 2013. A sentencing date is pending. Both defendants face mandatory sentences of life without parole on the murder conviction and up to 25 years imprisonment on the robbery conviction. The defendants are being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On September 24th, 2013, Christopher Kirkman came before the court and entered a guilty plea to the offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver-marijuana, as alleged in count I of trial information FE267608, in violation of Iowa Code Sections 124.401(1)(d), a class d felony and domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury, as a lesser included offense of count I of trial information FE266728, in violation of Iowa Code Sections 708.2A(2)(d), an aggravated misdemeanor. On November 7th, 2013 he came before the court for sentencing and received a five year suspended sentence in FE267608 and a two year suspended sentence in FE266728. The Court ran both counts consecutive to each other for a total period of incarceration not to exceed seven years. The defendant was placed on probation for two years and required to complete aftercare on the drug charge and batterer’s education for the domestic case. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On September 23, 2013, Luke Goode came before the court and entered a guilty plea to the offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver-marijuana, as alleged in count II of the trial information, in violation of Iowa Code Sections 124.401(1)(d), a class d felony. On November 7, 2013, he came before the court for sentencing and received a deferred judgment and probation. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
